Hamilton Alricks Hamilton Alricks was born in 1806 in Lost Creek Valley, Juniata County. His family came to Harrisburg in 1814. Like his brother, Herman, he was educated at the Harrisburg Academy. He studied law with Samuel Douglas, Esq. and was admitted to the bar in 1828. He was a member of the Legislature for one year, a member of the Chicago Convention that nominated General George McClellan for President in 1864, and a member of the State Constitutional Convention in 1872-73. He married Caroline Bull and died in 1893. This photo was taken by Draper & Husted in Philadelphia. (Info from Dauphin County Biographical Encyclopedia.) |
