Scope and Content

Consists of the handwritten By-Laws of the City Grays Armory Association adopted in October, 1885; the minute book and records, 1885-1937; an historical sketch of the "City Grays" Company D, 8th Regiment Infantry, 3rd brigade; the publication, "First City Zouaves and City Grays," which provides a history of the military organization, 1861-1913; scrapbooks with photographs and news clippings; photo albums of the Penna. State Rifle Range at Mt. Gretna, 1906-1915, and the Gettysburg and Mt. Gretna Encampments, 1902-1919, with a map of Camp Alex L. Hawkins in Mt. Gretna as it was in 1898.

Includes a large lithograph of the muster roll of the officers, non-commissioned officers, and privates mustered into service at Harrisburg, July 26, 1862. Scenes of military life appear at the top of the lithograph, and small oval pictures of some of the officers are above the muster roll.
