Scope and Content

The collection contains an information brochure sent to all Masons inviting them to attend the ceremonial of initiation and constitution of the Pilgrim Chapter of Order of DeMolay for Boys held March, 1925; two copies of the By-Laws, 1930 & 1946; anniversary programs, 1927 to 1946; notices, announcements, tickets, dance cards, and other memorabilia of the organization.

Background

The Order of DeMolay, Pilgrim Chapter was founded in 1925 and was under the direction of a Grand Council of Masons. Sons of Master Masons in good Masonic standing and their friends between the ages of 16 and 21 years were eligible for membership. The boys were taught lessons in upright, Christian living. The organization was founded on seven principles: filial love, reverence for sacred things, courtesy, comradeship, fidelity, cleanliness, and patriotism to country.
