Scope and Content

The collection contains a report entitled, "The Competitive Position of Pennsylvania Businesses," 1992 update prepared by David R. Forrest and Robert E. Greenwood, research associate and research director, respectively of the Pennsylvania Business Roundtable. The study was the fourth in a series of reports examining the competitive position of Pennsylvania businesses in comparison to a sample group of sixteen other states.

Background

The Pennsylvania Business Roundtable is a non-profit corporation organized in 1979 for the purpose of promoting economic development, job opportunities and fiscal responsibility within the Commonwealth. It is composed of senior executives from forty major corporations headquartered or maintaining significant facilities in the state. The Roundtable studies major economic issues affecting Pennsylvania and publishes objective, non-partisan reports on the issues in order to bring about improvements in Pennsylvania's economy. The organization is located at 208 North Third Street, Harrisburg, Executive Director, John Dankosky.
