Scope and Content

The collection contains publications of the Pennsylvania Economy League, Inc. from 1981 to 1991. They include four "Factbooks," 1987-1990, a digest of significant facts and figures on state and local government in Pennsylvania, and two surveys, "Higher Education and the Economy," with case study reports, 1981 and 1991.

Background

The Pennsylvania Economy League was incorporated in 1936 as a non-profit association of citizens organized for a more effective and economical state and local government in Pennsylvania. It conducts research and analyses of government programs, management and financing and makes the results available to both public officials and citizens. The League is located at 600 North Third Street, Harrisburg.
