Background
Sarah Edwards Bridgman married Joseph Shipley Dixon of Wilmington, Delaware in 1836. They lived in Wilmington for a short time and then moved to Pennsylvania and settled in Harrisburg. Their daughter, Elisabeth Bridgman Dixon, married Dr. Henry L. Orth, son of Dr. Edward Lawrence and Martha Kerr Orth, in 1868. Their children were Edward Lawrence, Anna Shipley Dixon and Roberta Elisabeth.
