The Historical Society of Dauphin County has been in the business of preserving and presenting the history of our region for over 135 years. During all of that time the Society has called upon its membership base for much needed support. Today is no exception.
Membership income provides for the preservation of archives and artifacts, for the provision of library and research services, for education programs for adults and children and for special exhibits in the John Harris-Simon Cameron Mansion. A strong membership motivates the Society to provide meaningful programs and services. It is also vital to our efforts to assure that the past is part of the present for this and future generations. Evidence of the strength of the Society’s membership has been their support of the recent extensive restoration of the exterior of the Mansion, the first in thirty years. Continued support will be needed to continue to the interior for much-needed restoration there.
When you become a member of the Society, you receive many benefits. We hope you will join us in celebrating our rich and meaningful heritage and become a partner in our efforts today.
