He is a tall man of fine appearance some 34 to 38 years old I judge. Fine voice and very earnest and excellent preacher. He is among the best preachers we [have] had here [ever]. I walked in afternoon before 3 pm 1 ½ to 2 miles. Wife , self, and children at church morning and evening except Fanny was not in Ev- home 8 ½ and to bed 9 ½.

Rec. Dr. W. Watson of Milton called at 4 ½ to 5 pm to see about getting his son Robert Bellville Watson MD changed from Lancaster County to Union Co. in the enrollment- Informed him that it would not be "did". I was in court from 2 to 3 ½ pm. walked trough day chiefly in evening 3-4 miles- spent evening at home and to bed 9 ½ to 10.

12-3-Clear-Fine-Pleasant- Cloudy after 3 pm. Met [Borm Ewcolt] from 3 to 5 in room in court house. Walked trough day in morning and evening

This the woman that formally lived with Mrs. Butting- My wife’s sister- we have no girl yet – since Nora left.

Attended as a spectator a meeting in the court house from 7 to 8 ½ pm on subject of the limitations in The Legislature to remove the Capital to Phila[dephia]. Was quite a large meeting presided over by Mayor Rumfort- who made a speech- Lamberton to form a committee of 2 Resolutions and he and A.J. Heim made 2 free [speeches]. I left before meeting over- to bed 9 ¼.

Met Board of Enrollment short time 3 pm. Dr. Charlson and self only present walked through day 2 ½ to 3 ½ mile-spent evening at home and to bed 9 ½ to 10.

14-5 Clear-Fine- Fresh- Some Windy- Met Board of Enrollment at 3 1/2pm. all present for an hour. Was t the Capital at Senate Ch. from 10 ½ to 11 ½ am to hear what was to be said on the [?] remove the seat of Government from Harrisburg to Phila[delphia] City.

Borough this day on account of the Purchase Money of a Horse hot in said borough owned by F. K. Boran Esq. and Myself, which I have this day contracted to sell to Mr. Mimm for 115. 00/00 $15.00

I gave him a receipt to the effect that he is to have a deed in a week or two or whenever Mrs.Boran who is now unwell she be able to attend its execution.

Paid ½ lb Crackers 12 ½ lb macaronis 25, .37 walked 2 to 3 miles circular through day- Evening at home and to bed 10.

15-6 Clear and Cloudy. 7C. Mar Dowal and self called on A.J. Heim and to see Jim Dougherty about Ryan Insiner. Did not see Dougherty hit had considerable talk with Hein on the subject. Walked through day 4-5 miles and to bed 9 ½.

I called at Rev M Johnson’s of 2nd Lutheran Church to acc [acquire?] him on subject of hearing [John] Calvin recite Latin and Greek Preparatory to his entering Princeton College in August 1 next. Walked through the day 3 to 4 miles. Spent evening at home and to bed 9 ½ pm.
