Background
The Civic Club of Harrisburg was founded in 1898. Its purpose is to increase public interest in all matters of good citizenship, to promote better social order, increase and promote public education, advance interests of public welfare and public health, foster interest in and promote civic, patriotic and social work, and encourage cultural interests in the community. The club remains in operation into the 21st century.
