The collection contains materials concerning the George Beatty family. They include: a framed programme of the "Riverside Sociables," 1873-74; a paper emblem of the Pennsylvania Female College; newspaper clipping from the Harrisburg Daily Patriot, 1878, providing the address of Daniel Dougherty, "Why should Don Cameron be United States senator?"; newspaper clipping, "Memories of Market Square," providing news of inhabitants 1840-1850; photocopies of the obituaries of George Beatty and Mrs. Catharine Beatty; invoices, 1883-84 and a tax receipt, 1860; rotogravure photo of Front Street; copies of photos of the Harris-Cameron mansion and the home of George Beatty at Locust and Pine streets.
