Collection contains a booklet," History and Evidence of the Passage of Abraham Lincoln from Harrisburg, Pa. to Washington, D. C. on the 22nd and 23rd of February, 1861," published by Pinkerton's National Detective Agency, 1868; and two pamphlets about the detective agency printed in 1949 and 1950.

Background

The donor's father worked for Pinkerton's Detective Agency about 1947-1949 in the Buffalo office while living in Lockport, New York. Copies of the booklet were likely distributed to all Pinkerton offices.
