Scope and Content

The collection contains correspondence 1857-1860; reports, 1858-1863, including a list of 17 members who marched to Gov. Curtin's office to offer their services for the emergency; minutes of the meetings of the Association 1856-1860; a copy of House of Representatives Bill 259, which granted pensions to the officers and soldiers of the war of 1812 and those engaged in Indian wars during that period, 1858, and a resolution by the Senate and House of Representatives of Pennsylvania to raise a flag on the dome of the Capitol and an invitation to the Association to attend the celebration, February 22, 1861.
