The collection contains a letter from the Auditor's office of the Treasury Department to Mrs. Elizabeth A. Galbraith enclosing a certificate for $21.66 for pay due her husband, Samuel E. Galbraith, for services from October 31, 1861 to December 20, 1861, the time of his death. Corporal Galbraith was a member of Captain Wistar's Company, First Rifle Regiment of Pennsylvania.
