Scope and Content

The collection contains the State of Accounts of the Pennsylvania Hospital, being a summary of the receipts and payments for the year ending April 25, 1807. In addition to the receipts and expenses it charts the number of patients (571), including the type of their disease, who were admitted to the hospital and provides a chart of patients (800), including the type of their malady, who were treated by the resident physician, Thomas Bryant, but not admitted. The accounts were examined and settled by Samuel Coates, Paschal Hollingsworth, and Pattison Hartshorne.
