Collection contains three certificates verifying Joseph E. Rhoads enrollment in the Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry from 1862 to 1865.
Two documents - a mortgage and a bond - have been added to the collection. They are for a home purchased in 1916 at 337 Emerald Street, Harrisburg.
Background
Joseph E. Rhoads was a son of Daniel Rhoads and Susan Russell Rhoads, born about 1842 or 1843. His father, Daniel, held several civil offices in Harrisburg, and in later years operated a lime business.
