Sent him a copy of Note – Sent DW Rawn 3 Copies of Keystone & 2 [?] Extra Reporter. I was with Jacob Div[?] David Shrew & wife af forme at Mr. Kinneys office where the two former [?] bail for Michael Brown in case tried 15 last – was at my office till 9 P.M. J.C. [?] near Trimbles house[?].

21 ~ 4 ~ Rain ~ Very heavy Rain last night. I paid for 12[?] apple Butter 12 ½ cts & ½ [?] Cornmeal 15 cts – Paid [?] Mills of York Co. for [?] [?] beef weighing 91 & 81 lbs in all 172 lbs at 5 ½ cts per lb $9"48 he cut it up & I salted it down Also bought 2 dead pigs of [?] Hinckle weighing 115 & 82 lbs in all 197 lbs at 6 ½ cts per lb. $12"80 ½ po[paid] [?] for 1 Peck[?] Course Salt 28 cts – at Fisks for 6 lbs Brown Sugar 12 lbs – Fine Salt 37 ½ & 6 oz. Salt [?] amt. $1"12 ½ I was all day engaged in cutting & salting my pork & beef & helping women chop German Sausage. [?] [?] & came to my office at 8 P.M. 22 ~ 5 ~ Clear ~ Very Cold ~ Put Brime on my Beef that I cured yesterday – took walk 2 miles at 10 ½ A.M. Wheeled Meat [?] – to Jerry Killey to Hoop[?] paid Dinah Walters a a/c of wages 25cts being in full of one half of her wages for 2 checks the time changed for to this evening when she left making 75 cts po[paid] her in cash & 75 cts to be credited to her on my stove that she [?] (re note 14th [?]0 Handed Frances for Family purposes $2"00 was at my office till 9 P.M. where M.H. Dole called at 8 ½ to see me about Ex" [?] by me vs him for Robinson & I then went to a [?] Party of Members at Shunks when staid[sic] till 10 P.M. – Paid Fisk for 1 pt. Brandy 37 ½ cts.

24 ~ 7 Clear~ beautiful. Po[paid] for paper at McGowans 6 ¼ for Salt Petre ¼ lb at Fisks 6 ¼ cts Rec[received] letter from J. Graves & Co "Rochester – New York Dec 16. 1836" directed to da[?] Peacock [?] him handed to me with a claim against O. Barrett Esq one of the Editors of the Keystone in this [?]eare and addressed note to Barrett & lent him a copy of the copy of the note of $785"30 against "O Barrett Lee". Rec[received] note from Mr C. Burke. Present & answered him in profession pens[?]. Note to Mr. Chambers Esq Chambersburg in answer to his Rec[received] 21st [?] & letting him our fee in the case referred to maybe left pretty much to himself but Supposing that $200 in all might not be out of the way that is $150 or $160 in addition to what [?] – Paid P.C. Sedjrik[?] bk of S.C./ is a M[?] of Escor[?] in Baily Guandrain[?] of [?] blinctock[?] is Bash Nov 8 a fine 7. 1836 Dau. Cou. Plees $5. Present Mr A Weidman in my office who came from Phila[Philadelphia] to day – O. Barrett called at my office on Subject of note and [?] to him to day. I smoked [?] with Weidman at [?] Hotel from 10 to 10 ¾ P.M. & meal home.
