July 3-1 Clear- Fine- Warm- pleasant- wife [?] and children at am Church morning and evening Rev A C Smith [? Ville] york boy a young man just graduated and yet without a charge. With the same [cl?] as our preacher elect Rev. Mr. Mitchell preached for us this morning and evening [?] good sermons well aranged. Interesting and well delivered. Except that occasionally there is an [indi?] in his voice. He mean [?] good looking and well imdoubtedly make one of the best preachers. [?] of day at home. Home in eve 9-20 to bed 10 1/4.

4-2 Clear- Fine-Pleasant very little[t?] out in the way of celebrating the day-Mr. of [?] of 1812 and a fear of them and some dozen [?] unlimited the chief turn out. I walked something like a Sunday except for the moderate [?] I walked round capitol grounds in the morning + Mrs Rawn. I paid [?] for cough medicine.

7-5 Clear Fine Very Warm met board of Enrolment from 9 am to 12 pm and from 2 ½ to 4 pm adj on my motion to meet at Mifflenton at 8 am tomorrow. The farmers of the Cumberland valley are again crowding their homes and stock through [?] to get out of the way of the Rebels. [?] shame and a disgrace to the State and National government that [?] is not effectually protected against these rebel [?] and people against this hearing of their [?] giving from their farms at this important season of the year. Shame Shame on the [?] of PA! Shame on their apathy + [?] ness. Spent evening chiefly at home and to bed 8-9.
