Consists of a handwritten constitution of the Religious Tract Society of Harrisburg, c. 1829, listing thirteen rules and the signatures of the members; a booklet of the monthly proceedings of the Society kept by Mary E. (Wallace) DeWitt from October, 1829 to June, 1835.


The Religious Tract Society of Harrisburg was formed in 1829 as a means of distributing a knowledge of the Christian religion to all citizens. A paper on a specific topic was distributed to all families monthly.
