Scope and Content

The collection contains an agreement for the sale of an interest in the invention of a sub-soil plow to Jacob Ebersole for the sum on one hundred and fifty dollars by Jonas Roller and D. R. Steiner of Cumberland County who had obtained their interest by purchase in the invention which had been patented by William Burnham and S. B. Pierce in 1861. The agreement was made on November 20, 1867. The reverse side includes a handwritten notice by Jacob Ebersole dated August 5, 1868 in Middletown showing that he signed over all claims and rights to P. S. Kendig.
