The collection contains a photostat copy of a letter addressed to William Orbison, Attorney and Banker of Huntingdon, Pennsylvania by John Ashman, Representative from Huntingdon County in the Assembly at the time of its writing, January 31, 1825. The letter provides information upon the visit of General Lafayette and his son to Harrisburg during that year.
A reshoot of a portrait believed to be General Lafayette is included in the collection.
