Scope and Content

The collection contains a handwritten manuscript by J. Herbert Thomas entitled, "A Bird's Eye View Harrisburg," in which he describes the city of Harrisburg from the vantage point of the balcony surrounding the dome of the Capitol building. He describes the view of the business section of town, the Susquehanna River as it winds it way through the mountains, the Soldiers' Monument at State and Second Streets, the eastern view with the city reservoir. Undated.
