Scope and Content

Consists of the Marie Shuey collection which contains many papers and letters of Simon B. Cameron, grandson of General Simon Cameron; letters carried to ministers in foreign countries by Eliza Cameron Warford, sister of the Hon. Simon Cameron who was the United States Minister at the Court of St. Petersburg, 1862; nine letters written by or to Simon Cameron purchased by the Historical Society of Dauphin County in 1996; transcribed recipes from the cookbook of Eliza Cameron Bradley, daughter of J. Donald Cameron and Mary McCormick Cameron, and granddaughter of Simon Cameron; photocopies of two diaries kept by Maggie Cameron, daughter of Simon and Margaretta Cameron, 1857 and 1860-62.

A collection of letters to Simon Cameron, 1839-1853, two pay vouchers 1862, and a certificate for contribution, 1869, were added to the manuscript group in November, 2009. The collection was donated by the JoAnn Holman Estate.
