Background

Much of the collection concerns the Robert H. Moffitt house on Front Street in Harrisburg, built in 1895, and the attempts to place the house on the National Register of Historic Places. The North Dauphin County Mental Health and Mental Retardation Center was not successful in the attempt and the papers that accumulated in the effort were given to Nancy Summers who was at that time the Director of Consultation and Education for the Center.
