Scope and Content

The collection contains political papers, mortgages and bonds, and an invoice. The political papers include a receipt from the Republican State Committee, 1884; correspondence from the State Committee, 1898; a list of candidates for the primary election in 1896; a ticket to a reception and ball of the Young Men's Republican Club, 1878 and ticket to the grand military and dress ball in 1867.

The collection also includes four mortgages for property in the city of Harrisburg, 1873, 1893, with three judgment bonds.

The invoice is from the Mauk Funeral Director for the funeral expenses for S. Cameron McCormick in August, 1915. The invoice was sent to Annie C. McCormick, his wife.

Background

S. Cameron McCormick was born December 4, 1839 in Middletown, son of George McCormick and Amelia James. He died in Harrisburg, August 23, 1915 and was buried in East Harrisburg Cemetery. At the time of his death he was a retired mail carrier.
