Local educators are very fortunate to have in Central Pennsylvania a nationally significant historical region that spans the time period from the Colonial era to the Civil War and beyond, as well as archives filled with local primary source research materials. Visiting the National Civil War Museum or the State Museum of Pennsylvania? Then add a visit to the Mansion and library, a must for any day in Harrisburg and a great add-on to an existing trip.
The Historical Society of Dauphin County provides from time to time exciting and interactive education programs at the Mansion. Tours, hands-on programs and workshops can be customized for students from third to fifth grade through high school and college. Lectures and hands-on classes for adults may be scheduled from time to time. Programs of general interest are provided most second Sundays of the month from March through November. Please inquire.
