remained at home all day & Ev^g -wife & son Cha^s went to Church in morning-Gov Shunk & his daughter Nancy in a short time at 5 PM. To bed at 9 PM.

17-2 Clear & mild all day Frozen early in morn^g rode on horseback 12 mi^s from 9 to 11 AM calling at Poor House Hill-wrote to Jeremiah Youtz Middletown & kept copy (v. 3 inst)- was in and out of Argument Court through day-at Gov Shunks room at 7 ¼ or 8 PM a short time-home rest of Ev^g in office & to bed 10 ¼ PM.

18-3 Clear & mild all day-very fine froze very slightly in last night & thawing by 8 AM rode on horseback 6 mi^s from 9 to 10 AM-walked 2 or 3 mi^s in Ev^g about 5 PM on Boardway-p^d at Miles for 1 Qt Syrup Molasses 12 ½ for Sugar 6 ¼ Amt 18 ¾. Rec^d of Jno Feslar Fee $1.00 for writing application for Patent etc was in and out of Court through day-spent Ev^g chiefly in Parlour & office-Rich^d McAllister & Mrs Eliz^bth Breneizer in-to bed 9 PM.

Feb 19-4 Clear and mild all dy-very fine-froze lightly last night-paid for 2 lbs Butter 37 ¼ for 3 lbs Beef 15 cts to Jacob Uhler 80 cts for making me 2 Bbls of beer one del^d 14 Jany last. & the other this Morn^g Amt $1.32 ¼-p^d Jno Hoffman for 21 weeks milk & cream from 21 Sept last to 15 inst. at 20 cts per week $4.20-for 3 Doz Eggs 30 cts and for 4 ½ Bus Wheat at Poor House Mill del^d on his order of 15 inst to J (added "acob") Uhler (Miller) in my favour $3.93 ¾ from which said Jacob Uhler del^d me a Bbl. flour & the bran this day per his man Jacob Keller whom I paid as above..rode on horseback from 9 to 10 ¼ AM. 8 mi^s & walked about 4 Mi with Jno. Briggs & Herman Shunk Esq on Boardway by Capitol for 2 mi^s spent Even^g in parlour & office & to bed to 9 PM.

20-5 Cloudy~damp & Foggy all day-I rem^d in office chiefly all day-Paid at Pollocks for a Jackhalyard 25 cts-for Lobby table Book 6 ¼ and for a slate 15 cts for Son Cha^s Amt 46 ¼ Paid for salaratus 3 cts. Sewing Cotton 10 cts cough mixture 15 cts Amt 28 cts.-Was at Buchlers Hotel at 6 ½ PM. Saw & conversed with Eli K Price Esq of Phil^a & informed him of his info in hands of W^m McClure Esq & Self against Geo. Fisher Esq also saw Rich^d Megowan of Edgemont Del. Co Pa at Gov. Shunks room & Introduced by him to Mr Lawry of Pittsburg. They were going to visit Mr. DeWitt. home to office at 7 ¼ PM. Richard McAllister called at 9 ½ PM & I addressed letter to Gov Shunk by him on subject of his app^t as Depy Atty Gen^l -he left at 10-to bed at 10 PM.

21-6 Clear & very mild appearance of Jnoⁿ Summan rode on horseback 7 or 8 mi^s from 11 AM to 12 ¼ PM. Walked round 2 or 3 mi^s in afternoon. Attended meeting of B^d School D^s at Col Roberts office from 6 PM to 7 ¾ PM or 8 PM. Wrote to W^m Byrd Lancaster Co. on subject of Brighthill his tenant making Post & (??) fence. Wife at Large Party at Leslies from 7 ½ to 11 PM. I declined going-To bed 10 ½ PM.
