Scope and Content

Collection contains a booklet printed in 1944, which traces the 25-year history of the Penn Harris Hotel from its founding in 1918 to 1943, with photographs of the interior and exterior of the hotel, personnel, and scenes of Harrisburg; a Thanksgiving Dinner menu, 1921; an advertisement brochure, undated; postcards; newspaper clippings concerning the hotel's closing in December, 1972 and its demolition in 1973; a photocopy of a portion of a book "Reminiscences of E. Z. Wallower," who was president of the Harrisburg Hotel Company and instrumental in the building of the Penn Harris in 1917-1918.
