Diamond Valley Railroad

A group of officials and friends stand in front of the private car "Bessie," November 29, 1889. Admittedly, they are several counties away from Dauphin in Mooresville, Huntingdon County, PA. The small and little-known Diamond Valley Railroad operated between Barree and Neffs Mills in Huntingdon from 1886 to 1891. When the equipment and rolling stock was thereafter abandoned, it was used in building the Newport and Shermans Valley Railroad, slightly closer to "home." Photo ID: B02515.
